Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register my child for a program?
Registration is completed online through our website. Simply select the desired program, complete the required information, and submit payment to secure your spot.
Does my child need experience?
No, we welcome players of all levels of experience!
How often do you practice?
All teams will have two practice days (one week night, one weekend). Managers are able to select their preferred day/time. Once games start, only weekend practices continue.
Can we select a friend to play with?
Unfortunately, ILGSL has strict rules on the formation of teams. Our primary emphasis is geographical location (except for Ponytail/Sassoon draft). Our Division Directors are volunteers who work very hard in making teams as fair as possible while adhering to the guidelines set forth by the league. We cannot honor requests for special consideration.
When will we be contacted by our Manager
The Managers meeting is the second Thursday in March. Coaches are instructed to contact their teams by the end of that weekend.
What equipment is required?
A mitt is required.
Team helmets and a team bat are available.
Recommendations include cleats, batting gloves, and a fielding face guard
Are volunteers or coaches needed?
Yes! Please indicate that during your registration. We are always looking for volunteers! Coaches will be subject to a background check
How long is the season?
Practices can start in mid-March if the weather is good and the ground has thawed. Regular Season ends the first week of June. Playoffs run until June 16th
What makes this league so special?
Inter-Lakes Girls Softball League is a non-profit organization that was established in 1972 and is solely run by volunteers. ILGSL's main goal was to build a recreational softball league to teach young girls the fundamentals of the game. Beyond seeing girls love the game, they are making memories that last a lifetime!
